⚠️ Important Upgrade Notice
Before upgrading to Appsmith 2.0 or later, please check your current version.
If you are currently running a version earlier than v1.96, you must first upgrade to v1.99 before upgrading to Appsmith 2.0 or 2.1.
Appsmith 2.0 includes MongoDB 7, and the migration changes needed for that upgrade path are included in versions v1.96 through v1.99.
Skipping the v1.99 step will cause the upgrade to 2.x to fail - including deployments that use an external MongoDB instance.
If you already attempted the upgrade and run into an issue, don’t panic. There is no data loss or destructive changes. Simply, upgrade to v1.99 first, confirm your instance is running successfully, and then continue to Appsmith 2.1.
