Issue
I noticed a message in the Charts Widget saying "Fusion Chart Trial" after a recent update. I'm wondering if this means the charts won't work after the trial period.
Resolution
We have chosen Echarts as our library to replace Fusion Charts. On March 1, 2024, Fusion Charts in Appsmith has stopped working as expected and all your charts will default to their trial version with a watermark that says as much. We will not renew our license with Fusion Charts, and, without a paid license, Fusion Charts will show the trial watermark.
Why Echarts?
Echarts is an open-source and highly maintained charting library from Apache. With 50 out-of-the-box charts and a dozen components that can be combined in endless ways, we believe Echarts will be a powerful visualization tool in the Appsmith toolbelt.
In addressing our primary needs, we found Apache Echarts much better at handling errors and recovering from them without leading to app crashes.
